Good day ladies! Just a quick post to let you know that my home girl Jen and I recently joined the Thrive Moms Local community. The mission of the Thrive Moms ministry is to bring mothers together to uplift, inspire, provide encouragement, friendship and prayer for one another during our journey. It isn’t always an easy walk but it helps to connect with other women who can understand and relate to your situation. God has called us to be mothers by entrusting us with our amazing children. Because of this he wants us to live life to the fullest and enjoy all of the things that he has provided for us. Thrive Moms helps with this by connecting moms not only globally online (through their newsletter, ministry, devotion studies and online meetups) but also locally. It’s important to get engaged with the community around us, meet new people and support each other as best we can.
Jen introduced me to Thrive Moms recently and suggested we start our own local group. There weren’t any groups in the GTA and we knew of moms in our personal circle of friends who were yearning to meet new people and try something different. We talked about it for a few weeks and even prayed about it. I’m always up for trying new things so we applied as co-leaders and within a week we had our own group. Honestly, what works that quickly these days!? Clearly God has a plan for us and this group. We’re super excited to get the ball rolling on this and have started inviting friends within our communities.
Since becoming aware of Thrive Moms we’ve both found lots of encouraging information that has motivated us not only as mothers but as women walking with God. If you’re a mom, new or seasoned, and would like to connect with others then check out our new Facebook page. If you’re anywhere in the GTA we’d be happy for you to join us. We’re still in the early days so all are welcome to join. Our goal is to encourage members to share insights they’ve learned along the way, scriptures that have helped them through various situations and general updates about how things are going week to week. We’re here for you and want you to feel excited about all there is to come even when you’re elbow deep in dirty diapers, homework, dishes or laundry. In the long run, we’d like to set up regular meetups so that we can engage in person (both with or without our kids) and take a break from our routines.
I hope you’re as excited as we are! We’re looking forward to meeting you!
“Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you”
