It’s that time of year again! That’s right, it’s FLU season. Yuck. No one looks forward to the coughing, sneezing and aching. I’m not going to wade into the flu shot debate but instead I’d like to share with you some of the measures I take to protect myself from menacing germs. These are items I store in both my purse (I think I speak for most women when I say, “Yes, our purses contain everything but the kitchen sink!”) and desk at work.
Key to keeping your hands clean (in between hand washing) after touching various surfaces (let’s say a door knob) throughout the day. We touch so may surfaces that it’s important to keep hands as clean as we can since they’ll likely make it to our face or on to lunch!
During this time of year a vitamin C boost is just what our bodies need. I normally drink A LOT of water during the day and like to add a packet of this vitamin for flavour. Fortunately this product comes in a variety of fruit flavours, orange is my favourite. The take away here is an immunity boost packed into each packet.
An absolute must have for me. If I DO get a case of the sniffles they’re very handy when it comes to stopping the flow (I know, yuck!). Keeping these handy go beyond my purse and desk, they’re also in my car and different rooms in the house.
Touted as a remedy to relieve congestion and soothe a sore throat, a hot cup of ginger tea has a way of making me feel better. In my opinion nothing beats a warm bed and a hot cup of tea on the days when you need to take a break. It tastes great on its own or with cinnamon or lemon added. I usually pick up a box of crystal ginger packets but peeling and boiling the root and adding a little honey works just as well.
What methods do you use to keep germs at bay?
